About This Blood Orange Mocktail

One thing that stands out of this blood orange mocktail is its lower sugar content compared to conventional cocktails and mocktails. With just around 7g of sugar, equivalent to less than 2 teaspoons, this drink contains natural sugars derived from the fruit itself, without any added sugars. While many beverages of this kind can be laden with sugar, leading to fluctuations in energy levels and potential headaches, this mocktail offers a refreshing alternative free from excessive additives and dyes. By using real, fresh ingredients and opting for sparkling water that uses real fruit, we can enjoy the delicious taste of citrus without the excessive sugar intake. Additionally, the Kosterina Crushed Tangerine Vinegar adds a tangy twist while providing potential health benefits, such as aiding digestion and promoting overall wellness.

Blood Orange Mocktail Ingredients

  • Blood Orange- also known as Raspberry Orange. These vibrant citrus fruits have a distinctive flavor and add a beautiful color to the mocktail, providing a refreshing burst of tanginess.
  • Kosterina Crushed Tangerine Vinegar- This unique ingredient not only adds a tangy twist to the mocktail but also offers potential health benefits, such as aiding digestion.
  • Blood Orange Tangerine Spindrift- To add a bit of fizz and effervescence, I incorporated blood orange tangerine Spindrift—a naturally flavored sparkling water infused with real squeezed fruit. This not only enhances the citrusy flavor of the mocktail but also keeps it light and refreshing.
  • Ice- You can add as much or as little ice as you need. This is the ice mold that I used. For the most part, I try my best to avoid plastic but it's more important to avoid it when you combine hot substances with plastic. In this case, using it for ice on rare occasions was fine with me.
  • Lime, Orange Zest, Orange Peel & a Sprig of Parsley- for a finishing touch, I garnish the mocktail with lime and orange zest, a sprig of parsley, and a curled orange peel. These garnishes not only add visual appeal but also complement the flavors of the mocktail beautifully, creating a sensory experience that's as delightful as it is delicious. This is optional.
